repaying a favor

While we were in Colorado our sweet neighbors, William and Ella, took care of Maddie. They came over twice a day to feed her, let her outside, and love on her a little so she didn't feel so lonely. Once we were back from our trip, we knew we needed to treat our special helpers to something fun. (And give their mommy a little break too since she was truly the one that did all the work!) Berkley and Beckham decided that we could take them for ice cream. We loaded up in our "bus" (how Berkley refers to our Expedition) and headed to Coldstone. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was a sign on the door that said they were closed for remodeling. Bummer! Not to worry... we had a back-up plan. We headed across the street to Chick-fil-a. This way the kids got to have some fun on the playground and have ice cream too. It was a win-win situation.

When we got there, the kids decided that they wanted to play some first before eating ice cream. They all had SO much fun together. They hit the slide first, coming down one right after the other.
Then the boys paired up and came down together. Beckham always has a BLAST with William!
Soon the kids started racing each other, seeing who could make it down the slide the fastest.
Then they decided to play a little "hide-n-seek" and sent each other "searching" for them one by one. Ella was the first one to be "it."
Brenner quickly realized how much fun the other kids seemed to be having on this slide, and he wanted in on the fun too.He tried his best to climb up the slide, but he never made it very far.Berkley, being the wonderful big sister that she is, noticed Brenner having trouble and came to the rescue. She showed him where he needed to climb up to get to the slide. He got a little side-tracked on the way up, but he was having so much fun. He LOVED playing with the big kids.
He finally made it to the top and Berkley helped him right back down to the bottom!

After a while of playing hard, everyone decided it was time for ice cream. We all got a cone (except for Brenner... he shared with mommy) and enjoyed our treat together. I had a great time hanging out with them and listening to all of the funny things they were talking about. William and Ella are such sweet kids, and we had a great time with them. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful neighbors. Thanks William and Ella for taking care of Maddie. We truly appreciate your help.

I LOVE Brenner's curls! Sorry, this had nothing to do with the post, just that great last pic of his hair. :)
