moving mountains

...or maybe more like mounds of dirt; but to Beckham it was like moving mountains! Chris, my brother-n-law, has a passion for biking. He has been working on making a bike track with several jumps. This requires a lot of one thing... dirt! In fact, for his 30th birthday recently, that is exactly what Chris wanted... dirt! Last week Chris rented a skid-steer to assist him in placing all of this dirt where he wanted it. Although Beckham's true love right now is for boots, hats and gloves; he does also LOVE trucks of all kinds. We knew he would enjoy watching Chris in action, so we decided to stop by after church. Beckham got to hop in with Chris and assist him in moving some of these "mountains" of dirt. He absolutely loved it. (Of course, what 2 year old boy wouldn't? A big truck and mounds of dirt; the red clay dirt that is really messy... it sounds like a boy's dream.) Thanks Uncle Chris for letting Beckham help you move some mountains. Next up will be watching you ride this amazing track!!!

berkley the yodeling cowgirl

This past Saturday, Berkley had her ballet recital. She has been waiting for this all year. She LOVES to dance on the "big stage." She has just completed her second year of ballet lessons, and she is hooked. She absolutely loves to dance. This is what makes her heart happy, just as boots bring Beckham to life! It makes it even more special that she is able to share this passion with her Aunt Amy, who is still dancing fabulously after all these years.

This year Berkley was a yodeling cowgirl. I know, what exactly is a yodeling cowgirl? She is better known as Jesse, the yodeling cowgirl from Toy Story 2. Berkley's class actually danced to the song from the movie. They were all adorable and extremely entertaining. Beckham loved the dance as well, because they were cowgirls with cowboy hats! Brenner didn't get to make the show this year; but if I am a betting gal, I'm sure he will have many other opportunities in the future!!!

fun at the farm

This past Saturday our family was invited to a birthday party at May Farm. There are all kinds of fun things to do there for kids such as feed all of the farm animals, hold some of the small animals, and even ride some of the horses... a good time for kids of all ages; but for Beckham it was simply a dream! To understand this more clearly you would first need to know that Beckham begins each day putting on his boots. Sometimes he throws them on right away with his pajamas; while other mornings he demands to put on his jeans first. Of course there are also those mornings where the boots are the only thing he puts on!!! He soon accessorizes his outfit with a hat and gloves. When he is wearing his boots, hat and gloves life is good. His boots genuinely put him in a good mood. When other people are wearing boots, it brings a smile to his face as well. So you can imagine his excitement when the WHOLE family put boots on for the party. (Except for Brenner since we have yet to get him any baby boots; much to Beckham's disapproval!) We all had a great time at the party, but there is no doubt that Beckham had the MOST fun. Thanks Trinity for bringing Beckham's dream to life for a day!

Good thing Beckham had his gloves... just in case!

It took Berkley some time to warm up to the animals,

but she finally did.

Living the dream!

here i go

Okay... so here I go a blogging!! I have admired several friend's blogs for quite some time now thinking that I needed to be doing the same thing; but like so many things in life, I was always too busy to just sit down and do it. No more excuses. I'm ready to give this thing a try. I'm hoping that this will be a place where friends and family can come to see what my little Bs are up to. I do a terrible job getting any pictures printed and framed, but for whatever reason I am extremely motivated to at least get my pictures uploaded and organized on my computer. I am hoping that this blog might be a home for some of these pictures so that they can be shared with all of you. Please be patient with me as I learn. As the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect." so that is what I plan to do!!!
